NHK入局後、ドキュメンタリー番組制作の現場で撮影の基礎を徹底的に学び、のちに照明部へ。大河ドラマをはじめとする大型作品の現場でライティング技術を磨き上げた後、再び撮影部に復帰。「芝居をドキュメンタリーとして捉える」という独自の視点を持つドラマ撮影スタイルを確立する。
2012年には大河ドラマ『八重の桜』でNHKとして初となるS35カメラを導入。
その挑戦的な試みを皮切りに、4K／8K制作の黎明期を牽引する撮影監督・アドバイザーとして多くのドラマ作品に携わり、NHKの映像表現の進化に寄与した。
独立後は、江崎朋生カメラマン 及び 小宮山充カメラマンのもとで研鑽を積み、より高度でシネマライクな撮影技法を習得。
加えて、ステディカム・オペレーターとして約20年以上のキャリアを持ち、求められる映像表現の幅に応じて多様な作品に参加している。

After joining NHK, he thoroughly learned the fundamentals of cinematography on the set of documentary programs and later moved to the lighting department. After honing his lighting skills on the set of major productions such as historical dramas, he returned to the camera department and established a drama filming style with a unique perspective of "viewing acting as a documentary."
In 2012, he became the first NHK to use S35 cameras for the historical drama "Yae no Sakura."
Starting with this challenging experiment, he has worked on many dramas as a leading cinematographer and advisor in the early days of 4K/8K production, contributing to the evolution of NHK's visual expression.
After going independent, he trained under renowned cinematographers Tomoo Ezaki and Mitsuru Komiyama, mastering advanced cinematic techniques.
He also has 20 years of experience as a Steadicam operator, and has been involved in a wide variety of projects to meet the wide range of visual expressions required.
